Recipe for cooking butter pecan bread

Butter Pecan Bread


2 1/4 C. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
1 C. chopped pecans
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 C. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. butter


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a bread loaf pan.


Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in sugar and pecans.


Mix together egg, buttermilk and butter. Add dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Pour into prepared bread loaf pan. Bake for 45 min., until done. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
