Recipe for cooking banana nut bread

Banana Nut Bread


1/2 C. butter or butter replacement
1 C. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 med. bananas, mashed
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. chopped nuts


Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add bananas.


Sift dry ingredients and add to banana mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 5-in. bread loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 min.; then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake 50 min. longer. Check with a wooden pick to be sure it is done. The top will crack.


This recipe can be doubled.
