Recipe for cooking shrimp hoagie


Quick Meals- Salads and Sandwiches :: Seafood Sandwiches


Shrimp Hoagie


1 lb. peeled raw shrimp (50-60 count)
1/4 C. extra virgin olive oil
1/4 C. butter
2 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 Tbsp. crushed hot red pepper
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 Tbsp. butter
1 med. onion, sliced
1 sm. sweet green bell pepper, sliced
1 sm. sweet red pepper, sliced
2 hoagie buns

In lrg. cast iron frying pan, melt the 1/4 C. butter with extra virgin olive oil. Add garlic and hot red pepper. On low heat cook about 10 min., so as to blend flavors.

Add shrimp and cook until they are a deep pink.


In sm. frying pan melt the 4 Tbsp. butter. Add onion with red and green bell pepper slices. Cook until soft, not browned.


Place in sm. servings dish. Divide shrimp mixture into the two buns, and drizzle with the drippings. Top with onion/pepper mixture.


Makes approximately 2 lrg. sandwiches.
