Recipe for cooking golden cornbread

Golden Cornbread


4 C. yellow cornmeal
4 C. flour
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. baking powder
1 Tbsp. salt
1 qt. milk
4 eggs
1 C. butter or butter replacement, melted


In lrg. bowl, Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well.


In separate bowl, Mix together milk, eggs and melted butter. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour batter into greased 12 x 18-in. baking pan. Bake in preheated 400 degree F oven until light golden brown, about 30 to 35 min. Cool and cut into 2-in. squares.


Makes approximately 24 servings.


NOTE: If desired, 2 C. fresh corn kernels may be added to the batter. Mix well before baking.
