Recipe for cooking gelatin-custard layered salad

Gelatin-Custard Layered Salad


NOTE: Other flavors of gelatin or pudding may be substituted.


1 sm. box lemon (or other flavor)
1 sm. box strawberry (or other flavor)
2 C. boiling water, divided
2 sm. boxes instant vanilla pudding (or other flavor)
1/2 C. chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)


Dissolve contents of first box of gelatin into 1 C. boiling water, stirring well. Let cool slightly and pour into mold or 2-qt. baking dish and chill until set.


Meanwhile, make pudding as per instructions on box. Let cool while first layer of gelatin sets, then pour half of pudding over set gelatin. Chill until set.


Dissolve contents of second pkg. of gelatin into remaining 1 C. boiling water, stirring well. Let cool slightly, then pour over pudding layer and chill until set.


Pour remaining pudding over second layer of gelatin.


If desired, sprinkle top with nuts. Chill until set.


Makes approximately approximately 4 C..
