Sausage Chowder


1 can kidney beans
1 grated green bell pepper
1 onion
1 lrg. can stewed tomatoes
4 diced med. potatoes
1 lb. sausage (hot, med. or mild)
Enough water to make soupy
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 or 3 bay leaves


Brown sausage; drain. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 45 min. or until potatoes are done.
