Quick Meals- Salads and Sandwiches :: Beef Sandwiches
Yield: 4 servings
2 Tbsp. butter or butter replacement
4 (4 oz.) beef cube steaks
1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
1 C. beef broth
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Dash of pepper
4 (1-in.) slices French bread, toasted
2 (1-oz.) slices Swiss cheese, halved
In a lrg. skillet melt butter. Add steaks and cook over med.-high heat for 2 to 3 min. on each side or until done. Remove from skillet, reservings drippings.
Cook onion in drippings until tender.
Mix together broth, cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and pepper. Add to skillet. Cook and stir until bubbly. Cook and stir 2 min. more.
Place steaks on bread. Top with cheese and onion mixture.
