Default Bacon and Cheese Melts

I had this recipe last weekend at a family get together and it was just amazing. The bread was from a local bakery and it was like a multi-gran/flax grain bread stick or baguette. \r\n\r\nWhat they did was melt some butter and add crushed garlic to it. Then slice the bread in 1/2 inch slices (on an angle to make the surface bigger) and brush the pieces with the butter and garlic mixture. After that, sprinkle some crushed bacon on the slices of bread and then top with shredded cheese. We just had regular cheddar, but I bet it would taste good with just about any type of cheese shredded on top of it! \r\n\r\nIt is pretty easy to make and I thought I would add a post since I have gotten some really good ideas off of this board in the past.\r\n\r\nCandy

That sounds so good!! And easy to boot I'll have to try that one...my kids love it when I make baked potatoes with crushed up bacon and cheese, why not put it on bread? I'll bet it will be a hit.

Oh my. That sounds fast easy and delicious. How do you think it would work with French bread or a baguette?
