Default Not Your Mama's Grilled Cheese

My mother used to pile the margarine on the bread and then stick a piece of processed cheese in the middle and throw it in the pan and fry it until it was done. I remember having to wipe my hands after eating the sandwich because they were so oily. With the toaster oven I can make the grilled cheese and I don't have to get greasy hands! Since I am at it, why just use processed cheese? I like all kinds of cheeses....well, maybe not Blue Cheese  Swiss cheese and Havarti are two of my favorites. I also like to put other things in as well, like banana peppers, tomato, bacon and sometimes I put in jalapeno peppers! Black Forest Ham is also good. Using other breads such as rye or whole wheat is a good change from just white bread. I hope this helps and with Christmas coming why not throw some left over turkey in with the cheese? Naw! That just does not sound right!
