Default french press technique

I bought a Bodum french press for my mother, but she seem cannot use it properly. The taste of coffee is always a little bit watery and sometimes it simply tastes like instant coffee. What it is? Are there any secrets how to make coffee in a french press?

Perhaps she ate something prior to the coffee that changed the taste

Do you use the coarse-ground coffee? Make sure it is not overexpired and was sealed well enough when you purchased it.

Default French press coffee

Greetings \r\n\r\nI just read your post regarding your french press coffee problems.\r\nI didn't notice if you were using the grind recommended for french press coffee makers.\r\n\r\nA course grind for french pressing coffee is the recommended choice. If you are grinding your beans at home, set your grinder to the coarse setting. If you purchase preground coffee, order french roast grind specifically.\r\n\r\nYou can find french roast grinds available for all their fresh roasted coffee selections at We Be Java\r\n\r\nI hope this helps. I will be posting an article on proper coffee grinding based on brewing technbiques sometime in the near future.\r\n\r\nBest regards\r\nVince
