I love this one - my favorite food is Thai food. I've never heard of Thai basil though. I'll have to go to our local Asian grocery store and see if they have it on hand. \r\n\r\nI wish my husband liked Thai food as well. Looks like I'll have to make this and have leftovers for myself!

We haven't had Thai food in so long. I know there are good Thai restaurants near here; we just never end up going to them. \r\n\r\nThis recipe does sound tasty. It would be nice to make some Thai at home.

My mother in law makes a salad similar to this but she uses flank steak. She makes a mixture of fish sauce, water, and sugar and mixes the salad greens together with bean sprouts, cucumber, cilantro, minced peanuts, and those clear vermicelli noodles. It's quite tasty and nice and light.

Well thanks, Karen. Now my mouth is watering. LOL! Care to share a step-by-step recipe with the rest of the class? I'm dying to know.

There's a Vietnamese restaurant near me that makes something similar to that dish Karen but they grill pork and shrimp and put it over those very thin white noodles. They garnish it with those peanuts, green onions, and shredded carrots. I go there all the time for lunch - it's fairly inexpensive to eat there, that meal is only 4.95!!

I'll have to get the recipe with the exacts and post it on here when I get it. It really is so good...I have a craving for it and hopefully she'll make it soon. We're heading over to her house this weekend so I'll be sure to ask for the recipe.
