Default summer treat - Mint and Cumin Water

This is a popular street drink during the Indian summertime - you won't find it during the winter. The cumin - which tastes best if you roast it and grind it yourself - adds a delicious hint of spice. It's also very cooling and people find that it settles the stomach.\r\n\r\nServes 1\r\n\r\nPreparation time: 10-12 minutes\r\nIngredients\r\n\r\n2 x 20g packs fresh mint\r\njuice of 2 limes\r\n? tsp ground cumin\r\npinch of salt\r\n1? tsp sugar\r\nsoda water or sparkling water, well chilled\r\nmint leaves and lime, to garnish\r\nInstructions\r\n\r\nPut the mint, stalks and all, into a blender with the lime juice and blitz to a pur?e. Press the pur?e through a sieve into a bowl and discard the mint debris. Add cumin, salt and sugar, adjusting the quantities to suit your taste. Fill a tall glass with crushed ice, pour over the minty liquid and top up with soda or sparkling water. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime to serve.\r\n\r\nThis recipe was first published on Waitrose.com in August 2004.

Sounds ok, but I think I just stick to an ice cream and cold sparkling water as a perfect treat during hot summer days.

This is a wonderful fresh fruit summer treat. You can also personalize it by throwing in whatever fruit you like. I like this combination of fruit most of all:\r\n\r\n2 cups whipping cream \r\n1/2 cup chopped peaches \r\n1/2 cup chopped mangoes \r\n1/2 cup quartered strawberries \r\n1/2 cup raspberries \r\n1/2 cup blueberries \r\n1/2 cup chopped cherries \r\n6 teaspoons sugar \r\n3/4 teaspoon crushed nutmeg \r\n1/4 teaspoon cinnamon\r\n\r\nCombine chopped fruit (cherries, peaches, mango, and strawberries) with 5 teaspoons of sugar. Mix until fruit is coated. Whip cream with nutmeg, cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Add raspberries and blueberries to fruit and sugar mix. Fold fruit mix into the whipped cream. Dish into 6 bowls, garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve immediately or freeze for a frozen dessert.
