Default White Chocolate Gorp

Yes, what a party without a good food?!\r\n\r\nThis is my favorite - White Chocolate Gorp\r\n\r\nINGREDIENTS:\r\n2 pounds white chocolate\r\n6 cups crispy rice cereal squares\r\n3 cups toasted oat cereal\r\n2 cups thin pretzel sticks\r\n2 cups cashews\r\n1 (12 ounce) package mini candy-coated chocolate pieces\r\n\r\nDIRECTIONS:\r\nMelt chocolate in a large saucepan over low heat or in microwave until just until soft. Stir until melted. Combine all the other ingredients in big roaster pan or bowl. Stir chocolate into mixture. Turn out on waxed paper. Of course anything you like can be added or substituted-but this recipe is a great combination!\r\nCombine the crispy rice cereal squares, toasted oat cereal, pretzels, cashews and candy in big roaster pan or bowl. Stir chocolate into mixture. Turn out on waxed paper and let cool.

Default Old Fashioned Plum Pudding

Yes, I know Christams is over, but this recipe is my favorite - Old Fashioned Plum Pudding\r\n\r\n\r\n2 cups flour\r\n1/2 tsp salt\r\n1 tsp baking soda\r\n1 tsp cinnamon\r\n1 1/2 cups sugar\r\n3 eggs\r\n1 cup vegetable oil\r\n1 tsp pure vanilla extract\r\n1 cup buttermilk\r\n1 cup cooked prunes, pitted\r\n1 cup chopped walnuts\r\n\r\nPreheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour 2 cake pans with tube in center. \r\n\r\nSift together flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. Set aside. Mix sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla, and buttermilk. Add flour mixture. \r\n\r\nFold in cooked, chopped prunes and nuts. Bake 45 minutes to an hour at 325 degrees in prepared tube pans. \r\n\r\nWhen puddings are done, remove from pans, prick all over immediately with a fork and pour pudding sauce over while still hot, pressing sauce into puddings with a spatula. \r\n\r\nStore puddings in refrigerator. Slice when cold. To serve: bring to room temperature. Serve with brandied hard sauce. Freezes well. \r\n\r\nEach pan serves 12.\r\n\r\n\r\nPudding Sauce:\r\n\r\n1/2 cup melted butter\r\n1 cup sugar\r\n1/2 cup baking soda\r\n1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract\r\n\r\nPrepare sauce 10 minutes before pudding is done by mixing the above in a heavy saucepan. Boil all of the ingredients together for two minutes, stirring constantly.\r\n\r\nBrandied Hard Sauce:\r\n1 Tbsp sweet unsalted butter\r\n1 unbeaten egg\r\n2 cups powdered sugar\r\n1 tsp pure vanilla extract\r\n1 Tbsp brandy\r\n\r\nCream butter. Add egg and mix well. Gradually work in two cups or more powdered sugar. More sugar will make a tighter hard sauce. Flavor with brandy.
