I think the right cups for the right cup of java is important. You don't want to be drinking espresso out of a large cup just like you would not want to drink coffee out of a tiny espresso cup.

For me, it all depends. When I wake up in the morning and get the coffee maker started up, the aroma fills my whole house. I think that alone gives the coffee atmosphere. As long as the coffee is high quality and tastes great, all I need is a plain old mug. However, If I'm entertaining, I think tableware is important to set the mood.
