Default handmade tamper - is it possible?

I like handmade wooden things in my kitchen, they look very neat and authentic. I have some wooden scoops, cups and coffee boxes etc. Now I want to make wooden tamper. Is it possible? Did anyone try it?

I've never tried to make tampers, but I think it's possible. There are lots of wooden tampers for sale, so you can easily use your own hand-made tamper, why not?

I don't see any reasons to make your own wooden tamper if I can easily buy one.
