Another great Sweet variety from India.... The Gulab Jamoons are popula all over the country... Ingredients for Jamoon 2 cups skim milk powder 1 cup maida/multipurpose flour 1 cup butter (unsalted) 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp Baking Soda Ingredients for Sugar Syrup 3-4 cups sugar 2 cups water cardamom powder Method Mix the ingredients for jamoon to make a very soft dough. Set aside for one hour In the meantime melt the sugar in water over low flame and prepare the sugar syrup. Put off the flame once the syrup boils. Add cardamom powder to the syrup Make small balls of the jamoon mix and put one raisin in the center of each ball Deep fry in oil on a low flame till golden yellow in color Immediately immerse the hot jamoons into hot sugar syrup. Let it soak. Serve hot either with whipped cream or with Ice cream ( in a plate) Variations |
