I was wondering for a long time what is inside of an ice cream maker and how it works. At last I went the easiest way and read the definition in Wikipedia. I believe I could not find the most simple one:\r\n\r\nAn ice cream maker is a machine that produces ice cream. It usually consists of a rotating paddle and a bowl with a layer of space outside it to hold rock salt. Other types of ice cream makers include a bowl that you can freeze. This type does not require rock salt. The ingredients for ice cream usually include:\r\n\r\nCream \r\nMilk or milk fat \r\nSugar \r\nFlavouring such as fruit, chocolate and so on.

...and it works this way:\r\nWith a simple mixture of ice and salt in the outer container, the temperature drops below zero degrees and creates a perfect environment for freezing ice cream mixtures in the inner container.
