I thought I would better post this topic in recipes, but it is moslty about ice cream and it might help to those who still doubt if they need their own ice cream maker to make the ice cream of their dream and not to buy it in the supermarket \r\n\r\nWell some interesting facts, shortly:\r\n\r\n1. Vanilla is the most popular flavour of ice cream.\r\n2. The most popular topping is chocolate syrup.\r\n3. The world's top 5 consumers of ice cream in order: United States of America, New Zealand, Denmark, Australia, Belgium/Luxembourg.\r\n4. Ice cream consumption in the USA is 21 litres per person per year.\r\n5. Around 5% of people share their ice cream with their pet cat or dog.\r\n6. Elvis Presley is said to have loved ice cream - apparently his favourites were chocolate milkshakes and peach ice cream.

I am in those 5%! I always give my ice cream to my cat.

Some historical information:\r\n\r\nDo you know where ice cream came from?\r\n\r\nMany stories say that ice cream goes back a long way, from the time of Roman Emperor Nero who have had snow brought down from the mountains to freeze his favourite drinks \r\n\r\nBut the kind of ice cream which we eat it now, came from 1846, when Nancy Johnson (USA) invented the hand-crank freezer.
