Default Problem Pods for Saeco

I have a Saeco Classico and am having a problem using espresso pods. The espresso comes out barely brown. I use the metal screen for the filter. If I take the screen out, it leaks around the side. Is there a special adapter to be used?

Do you really do everything as described in your manual? As far as I know this machine is very to use with espresso pods...
