I just acquired my first breadmaker at a garage sale. It did not come with instructions. The only model I have found so far on the internet is BC1690. I need to know the capacity and the ingredient method i.e. liquids first or last to begin trying recipes.

You always put in the liquid first and the yeast last. The other ingredients can go in any order between. Basically for a two pound loaf, you need one and a half cups of water, three cups of flour, one to one and a half teaspoons of yeast, two tablespoons of sugar, one teaspoon of salt (the recipe called for 2 teaspoons but the bread comes too salty), two tablespoons of powdered milk and two tablespoons of soft butter. I guess that's all you want to know. The bread is best when eaten immediately. If left in the refrigerator, it gets crumbly.

I have this model and frankly I can't recall how long ago I got it - at least 10 years ago, probably closer to 15 - but I have been very satisfied with it and still use it! Mostly for dough for bread bowls for soup (like at Panera Bread!) I liked it so much I bought one just like it for my oldest daughter for Christmas about a year later - she still uses hers, too. It came with a recipe book and a separate instruction manual - both of which I still have and use (among others)! It even has a delayed bake feature and some really good recipes! At one point I accidentally tossed the dough fin out about 2 yr. ago! I thought I was going to have to get a new machine, but thanks to a local family owned appliance repair shop that still carries endless replacement parts I learned the fin/blade is the same as the "Wellbuilt Dough Blade G". Recipes are for 1 1/2 # or 2# loaves. If your machine is the one shown in this ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/BettyCrockerBake...QQcmdZViewItem \r\nthen email me at B4IM2OLD@msn.com - perhaps I can help. Be sure to put "bread machine" in the subject line so I don't accidentally delete it!
