Default Bitter Coffee?

I don't know if anyone has heard this before but sometimes if you put some salt in with the coffee grinds it takes some of the bitterness away. I also have heard that fresh ground coffee is not as bitter as stuff that has been sitting around for a while! \r\n\r\nDoes anyone else know anything about taking the edge (bitterness) out of coffee?

I would say that the coffee is not as bitter when it is freshly brewed. Also it might help to add some cream and sugar to take the edge off of the coffee. Let us know if you come up with anything. What kind of coffee are you brewing anyways?
