I'm wondering whether people think/believe that a single origin coffee has the ability to produce outstanding espresso or if an "espresso blend" is the better result. \r\n\r\nMy personal opinion? I have found some incredibly good single origins that are totaly suited for espresso, however I don't think they are ready to play an important role in the American coffee scene. Yet.

Glenn,\r\n\r\nI don't understand your question. Are you asking "what is a single origin?" or "what single origins do I like for espresso?".

Glenn..Single Origin is a coffee from one specific growing region and usually one plantation or estate. Not a blend of different coffees from say Brazil or Colombia.\r\n\r\nIf you are using a blend from a particular roaster (Lavazza), they may be using a Central American along with a South American and maybe an Indo...who knows? Each roaster uses their own blending formulas. A Single Origin like my Costa Rican Monte Crisol will find it's way into one of my blends.\r\n\r\nHope this helps.
