Default Lets talk about Grinders

I have owned a small Braun blade grinder for several years now, yet realize that Burr Grinders produce a consistent grind without any "effort".\r\n\r\nMy wife is NOT a pro with the blade grinder and either makes it too couse or fine. Nothing like "Tea" coffee in the morning, though I appreciate her giving it a go when I am too tired to move. Can't complain about that.\r\n\r\nFrom my "Coffee Connection" I am led to also believe that Burr Grinders, other than the control for the grind, make a better cup because of the lack of "fracturing" of the beans that occurs with a blade mill like my Braun.\r\n\r\nMost Burr Grinders I have seen have a hopper to hold a bunch of beans, but for me it's just something else to clean as I grind a pot at a time and keep my beans frozen.\r\n\r\nThat said, do you have a grinder recommendation for a small quantity at a time, and that will maintain a consistent grind without a need for frequent adjustment, in a sub $100 product?\r\n\r\nGood topics here, by the way! Learned about this from the Yahoo Store Forums. Have never seen a really active coffee forum. Good job!\r\n\r\nAlso looks like a Moderator needs to move this post. I should wear my reading glasses! You have a "Grinder Forum" and I am posting in "Small Appliances" - Sorry!\r\n\r\nThanks!

I like inexpensive grinders for home use, for example Capresso Infinity conical burr grinder. It has 4 settings for all kinds of grind I need, such as extra fine, fine, regular and coarse, and at the same time it can preserve very good aroma with any settings I make.

Yes, Burr grinders make perfect gring and coffee tastes great. Actually the taste and quality of any coffee beverage depends on the proper grind. This is why it is very iportant to choose the best grinder you can afford.

\r\n\r\nYes, many people do the same. It a matter of taste, I think. You can have any grinder as well as any espresso machine which is convenient for you. Don't pay too much attention to other people's opinions. Try by yourself

\r\n\r\nYou'd better choose a grinder for home use , like Briel Java Burr Grinder or La Pavoni PA-BURR Grinder. I am niot shure you can find better models for this sum of money.
