\r\n\r\nI own the same grinder. On the whole you are quite right.\r\nI like this unit, and what I like most are these 16 grind settings! Four each there are four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse, and I can adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing.

Default hand grinder

I bought a hand grinder in one small collectible store about two weeks ago. It was priced $35 which was quite OK for me. It is KYM grinder. It is very nice with chrome top and it looks just about new now after I cleaned it thoroughly. I tried three or four some times and I am quite satisfied with it. Coffee tastes much better and it worth the effort.

Mazzer Luigi in my opinion makes the finest burr grinders for home and cafe alike. The Mini-mazzer consistently gets good reviews for the quility of the grind and the performance of the machine. The bigger Super Jolly is my most important piec of equiptment and best friend.

I agree with Alun...the Mazzer are great grinders! For home use I have a modified Rancillio Rocky. Also a little workhorse of a grinder.
