Default Inexpensive grinder

I have seen grinders for about $20 and they also grind spices. Does anyone know if they are any good? Do the blades go dull in those things? And is coffee better at home when it is freshly ground? Oh yeah, this is totally off topic.. or maybe not! But I have seen these coffee makers that have the grinders built in. Are they any good? And are they a pain to clean?\r\n\r\n\r\nWow, I ask a lot of questions!

Yea, I have seen some of those cheap ones at the discount stores. My buddy bought one and it was alright for a while but then the blades got dull and it was not grinding up the coffee fine enough for his coffee maker. \r\n\r\nI think it is better to pay a little more dough for a better quality one than to go cheap.

I was staying at a friends and he had a coffee maker with a built in grinder. I really didnt like it and thought it was confusing to operate. I think its best to spend a little money for a stand alone grinder and then make your coffee- but thats just my two cents

Hey thanks everyone for replying to my post. I think I will have to look at a more expensive grinder. Some of my friends at work had also told me about the lesser expensive ones and the whole dull blade thing.

Oh dude... you should like try a mallet! That is like totally cheap! One time my buds and me were crashed out at the beach and we like had this totally awesome blaze going.. woah... killer flames. So like my bud breaks out his old coffee pot but we had not beans! So like this other dude has like chocolate covered expresso beans.

So we like threw the beans in some dudes sock and then beat the shit.. can I write shit? out of them with a mallet. But like we had no filter, so we just put the sock in the pot with the boiling water.. totally whacked! I was like groady! That dude was wearing that sock all day, you dudes are freaked! No way am I going to down any of that java! You dudes are going to get like athletes mouth or something!

If you do want really a cheap grinder you could opt for MELITTA 8-OUNCE GRINDER It has a Pre-programmed touch-pad for 4, 8, 10 or 12 cups Variable grind selector and Wheel removes for easy cleaning .... But alas the blades are no good... It costs 20$

I haven't invested a lot in coffee grinders. I have had the same one for over ten years...the blade is still reasonably sharp, and it is still in great working condition. I bought a cheap black and decker grinder for about twelve bucks at Ace Hardware. I don't use it every day, though. Just a couple of times a month. And even then, I only grind beans in small amounts.
