Wink Turkish Lavash Bread Recipe

This bread recipe is flat yeast bread. This is a very easy to prepare recipe that may come handy when preparing an appetizer for small gatherings. This produces 8 servings.

You will need the following:

• 2 teaspoon Salt
• 2 c Warm water
• 2 tablespoon Sugar
• 5 1/2 c All purpose flour
• a pack of Yeast

PROCEDURES:

• Moderately oil a bowl for the dough.
• Combine water, yeast and sugar in a large bowl.
• The next step will be to put salt and flour in to the mixture. Blend well until it becomes soft dough.
• Start kneading the dough using a machine or by doing it manually. When doing it manually, be sure to place your dough on a floured board. Keep kneading for ten minutes until it’s elastic and smooth. But if you are using an electric mixer, be sure to set the mixer on the slowest speed. Do this for five minutes.
• Shape your dough into a medium sized ball and place it in the oiled bowl.
• Use a kitchen towel to cover the dough in a warm place. Allow your dough to rise until it doubles its size. Do this for 30-40 minutes.
• After the dough has doubled its size put it on a floured board press it down and start kneading again until there is no more left air in it.
• Make 8 round mounds from your dough put them on the board, use a gain a towel to cover the dough set aside for 30 minutes to let the dough rise until it nearly doubled its size.
• Let the oven heat to 450F. Prepare a rack near the oven.
• As soon as the 8 mounds of dough are ready take them out on a floured 12x15-in baking sheet.
Then shape your dough into 12X15 inches rectangles do this one at a time make that as thin as that of a pizza.
• Place holes on the entire surface at 1/2-inch intervals with the use of the tines of a roasting fork.
• Start actual baking of the bread loaves one at a time for 6 to 8 minutes or until the top has turned into very light brown. Should bubbles begin to puff up while baking immediately pop the bubble with use of a fork. Place baked bread on a rack to cool .
