Starters and Snacks :: Sweet Dips and Spreads
1 C. water
1 C. sugar
12 oz. fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 C. apricot preservings
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/3 C. slivered almonds, toasted
8 oz. cream cheese
In saucepan over med. heat bring the water and sugar to a boil without stirring. Boil 5 min. Add the cranberries. Cook until cranberries pop and the sauce is thickened, about 10 min. Remove from heat.
Add preservings and stir in juice. Cool.
Add almonds.
Place the block of cream cheese on a servings dish and spoon berries over top.
Serve with crackers.
